Giclée Printmaking

We currently print our giclées on a pair of 8 color Epson 9800 printers. These 44 inch printers use archival quality pigmented inks which, depending on the canvas or paper printed upon, are rated as fade resistant for up to 200 years in dark storage and 60 to 100 years under museum display conditions. Artists can confidently resell our prints without the fear of their work fading. Additionally, we provide certificates of authenticity which act a replacement guarantees for any giclée print produced in our studio.

We use Fredrix 901 and Breathing Color canvas. Both cotton-poly canvases are optical brightener free, water resistant and use a micro porus technology to lock the inks deep into the fabric of the canvas. Furthermore, our canvas giclées are given three coats of a special semigloss giclée varnish to protect the surface and provide a base for artists who wish to remark their giclées. Our canvas giclées over 8x10 inches are printed with three inch border to facilitate stretching. A two inch wrap can be added with an additional one inch border.

Giclées on paper are printed using a matte black ink to provide the deepest colors on watercolor papers. While our house paper is Cranes Museo, we also stock some Hahnemuhle and Arches papers. Cranes papers are stocked in 35x47, 24x36 and 17x22 sizes. Hahnemuhle and Arches papers are stocked in 24x36.

Photo giclées are available on Cranes Museo Silver Rag (24x36 & 44 inch rolls), Illford Gold Silk (17x22) and Hahnemuhle Photo Rag (24x36). Epson Premium papers (gloss, semimatte, and luster) are stocked in 44 inch rolls.
